New Product Success for the Gold Field
Monday, 30 August 2010 04:07

Airdrill Pty Ltd in association with Matex Drilling Fluids from Canada has been successful in the Western Australian Gold Field region with some trials of a new Product to the region called Matex Torque‐less.

Working with a large drilling company in the Gold Fields region, the drilling company had been finding it difficult to core through a particular Rock Sheer zone for the past 10‐15yrs. Airdrill approached this company with the new product and explained what it could offer as far as a new approach and the trial began.

In the past the company could only achieve sub meter core samples before having to grout up the hole, before advancing further. By using the Torque‐less product they were able to advance 2 ½ meters in 4 hours of drilling. They continued to drill using the Torque‐less product and are still obtaining more meters today.

Torque‐less is a revolutionary new product out of Canada which is a totally Environmentally Safe drilling fluid. It is the ultimate Rotary and Diamond drilling product for reducing Torque in the hole and protection against rod wear, rust build up and extending bit life. Torque‐less is based on an environmentally safe technology which has proven to be effective in lubricating down‐hole consumables for over the past 5‐7 years. It will increase both bit life and penetration rates during diamond drilling. It also helps to increase tool joint life by reducing torque and protects drill rod wear when using wedges in diamond drilling. Torqueless will even inhibit swelling clay like materials like Saprolites, Talcs and Kimberlites. Torque‐less will make at least 6 of our competitor’s products obsolete which will cut down how many products you have on site.
